Intake Assessment:Intake assessments will take place (virtually) in June so that we have all the info needed to start the program running.
Make-Up Sessions:Due to the program’s intensity, note there is no time available in the schedule for make-up sessions. Please expect to attend all sessions.
Option to stay:The Summer Intensive is a stand-alone program. Ideally it will give your child the boost they need to not need extra support from here. If there is space in September, Summer-Intensive families will be given the choice to continue if they choose, however, this is not an expectation of the program.
Will it work?Your child will receive a customized program targeted to their needs, 1:1 diagnostic teaching and lots of practice time. They should make progress. However, each child is unique so there will be variations in the amount of progress made.
Is this only for children with dyslexia? This is for children completing kindergarten, grade 1 or 2 who are not progressing into reading as quickly as expected. There are many reasons for this, only one of which is dyslexia.
Will my child be able to focus for 50 mins?I’ve been teaching online since before it was ‘cool’. I’ve worked with all sorts of kids virtually, and I can honestly say that I don’t find that it’s more challenging to engage them online than it is in-person. A lot of parents come with this concern, the assessment session is a good opportunity to get a sense of how things will go.
Will you teach pairs or small groups? My focus with the summer intensive is to foster real growth in reading during the 5 weeks of the program. 1:1 sessions allow me to create individualized learning plans for each child and focusing on specific skill growth. To get the results I’m hoping for, this program needs to be a 1:1 program.

Fill out the form below and I will schedule a conference call with you so that I can answer your questions about the program and better understand your child’s specific needs.
