Non-Tech Resources

I teach language and math in a multisensory way. While this evidence-based approach is effective, it also means that you will need some extra stuff!

I recommend you collect all these items together and create an OG box so that you can always have supplies on hand as you won’t need all of these every session.

General Requirements:

All children will require:

  • A quiet place to work – Ideally your child will work in an area that can be overheard by others in your home. Working in bedrooms is not ideal if it is necessary please be sure that the door stays open.
  • A desk to work at – This quietly communicates to your child that this is a time to work.
  • A distraction-free setting – please clean other objects off the desk.
  • A chair that fits your child – computer chairs that spin can be helpful or distracting depending on the child.
  • Pencils / pens / colouring pencils etc.
A collection of math manipulatives.

Language

I will mail you a start-up kit. From time to time I will mail you additional items or email you things to print.

It helps greatly if you keep your language tools together in the envelope I send so that we can have things on hand when we need them.

Math

For math, I will send you some manipulatives, but others are easier for you to purchase. Please have the following as your base kit.
